Polynesia: Bora-Bora among the 10 most beautiful islands in the world according to a travel site

The pearl of the Pacific is ninth in the "Travelers' Choice 2016" ranking compiled by TripAdvisor, dominated by Maui and Santorini. It boasts its idyllic landscapes, its fauna and flora...

Turquoise lagoons, white sand beaches, orange sunsets: Bora-Bora is a heavenly place and Tripadvisor has not failed to include it in its ranking 2016 "Travelers'Choice 2016" of the most beautiful islands in the world, ninth place. It is part of the Leeward Islands of the Society Archipelago in French Polynesia, 260 kilometers northwest of Papeete. Each year, nearly 20,000 tourists come to discover its magnificent landscapes.

Top spot goes to Maui, another Pacific island located in Hawaii. Santorini, Greece and Jamaica follow.

Tropical fish and turtles

The travel site recommends vacationers mingle with tropical fish in the Coral Garden or Tupitipiti Point. She invites them to relax "on the occasion of a self-tour to enjoy the breathtaking views of Mount Otemanu, an ancient volcano".

"At Lagoonariumwatch the sharks feed and swim alongside the turtles", is it still advisable. The turtle-oriented Moorea Marine Life Observation Center was established in 2011. To end a busy day, nothing like"a delicious meal in one of the best French restaurants on the island" and "a tropical cocktail under the stars".

The results were based on an algorithm. It analyzed the quantity and quality of comments and evaluations from Internet users relating to the different categories (hotels, restaurants and attractions) and the interest in bookings on the site, over a period of one year.

Here are some photos of Bora-Bora that invite you to travel and relax on the endless stretches of white sand:
