Nightlife in Majorca
The liveliest area for entertainment in Majorca is in the southwest of the island in the city of Palma and the beach resorts of Magaluf and Palma Nova. Magaluf has a terrific range of bars that include English style pubs with beer on tap, themed bars and traditional Spanish tapas bars. Majorcans believe in late nights and the fun doesn’t really kick off until about 23:00.
There are over 150 nightclubs or discos on the island, most of which are in Palma; while Majorca’s biggest and most renowned venue is BCMs in Magaluf, a gigantic, two tier establishment that plays all the latest tunes with well known guest DJs and great dancers.
Palma has a wonderful ambience and is a great place to go and mix with the locals and enjoy a more traditional Spanish evening. Casco Antiguo, Palma’s old town and historical centre, is charming, with its narrow alleys, quality pubs and eateries. Nearby Paseo Marítimo is a good looking area loaded with discos and clubs that play live music; while Gomila is the popular gay and lesbian capital of the island.
