Villas in Majorca

For an alternative to staying in hotels, the more independent minded traveller should consider holidaying in one of Majorca’s many excellent villas. These self catering holiday homes are great to come with a family, a large group of friends or both. You can expect any villa you rent to be very well looked after, clean, well stocked and perfectly suited for your independent self-catering holiday.

Once you’ve moved in and unpacked in your Majorca villa, you will be left to your own devices to do as you please for the duration of your stay. You can wake up when you want, go to bed when you want and do as much, or as little, as you want to with your time there. You will have the whole place to yourselves and so those who are looking for privacy, flexibility and independence will find staying in a villa their ideal choice.

Other facilities which you can expect in most villas are a swimming pool, TV (often with cable), Hi-fi, large and spacious bedrooms, a sizeable garden and all other furnishings you’d expect in a modern home, and more besides.

There will usually be a well stocked kitchen with all the pots and pans you need to cook for yourself, or of course you’re still free to venture out and try out some of Majorca’s many excellent restaurants. Most culinary-minded people like to have a balance between the two, perhaps alternating nightly between eating in and eating out.

Despite this independence, you will still be well looked after by the travel company who leases the villa – a representative will probably come to visit you on your first day to make sure everything is in order: they may visit again while you’re staying, but will certainly be on-hand to help you out should problems arise, or even just to give you some sight-seeing tips.

You will also be given some kind of welcome pack and some basic provisions so that you can get a quick snack upon arrival without having to worry about finding the shops immediately. If your villa was booked as part of a package tour, then there may also be a hire car included and an escort to meet you at the airport.

The villa will also be cleaned regularly, perhaps twice or three times a week, so it’s only small day-to-day cores you’ll have to worry about, allowing you to relax in the pool or garden, and set about the important business of exploring Majorca and all its beautiful beaches and other attractions.
