Rural homes Mallorca/Majorca

There are rural homes for rent in Mallorca/Majorca all over the island and they are a great way for the whole family or a group to holiday together with all the facilities that a house has to offer. Rural homes in Mallorca/Majorca are often excellent value for money and they allow you to get off the beaten track.

Casa rural, as they are known in Spanish, literally means a house in the country, but in Majorca it is a rather loose term as people who rent out houses very near towns will sometimes advertise their home as being rural for economic reasons, namely to receive grants from the council.

A popular region to rent a rural home in Mallorca/Majorca is in the villages sitting on the magnificent Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains. Popular destination villages include Bunyola on the road to Soller from Palma, the irresistible villages of Soller, Deia and Valldemossa, as well as Estellencs, Lucmajor, the Calvià region and many other inland areas.

Rural homes can be a single storey cottage or town house sleeping from two people up to a 16-person mansion with full facilities including en suite bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms and a swimming pool. Top end places may also come with air-conditioning, television, stereo system, all furnishings, and a garden and barbecue and so on.

Many rural homes in Mallorca/Majorca are owned by the local council and they can be somewhat bare, so it is always wise to find out as much information about the property and location as you can by viewing pictures online or in a brochure before you book.

As with other types of accommodation in Majorca, rural homes in Mallorca/Majorca tend to become fully booked during the high season months of July and August, so it is wise to make reservations well in advance.
