Hotels in Majorca/Mallorca

There are some world-class hotels in Majorca / Mallorca in which you can pamper yourself on every luxury and amenity you can think of. But that’s not to say that all hotel accommodation in Majorca / Mallorca is of that 5-star level – there are also some smaller, quieter retreats which are also very nice, but just not quite as grand as the high-risers that line the beaches. These places are often family run, and are a good option if you prefer a more intimate, down to earth atmosphere.

Because the beach being is one of the chief attractions for holidaymakers visiting Majorca / Mallorca, it will come as no surprise to learn that the majority of accommodation is on or near the beach, so you can roll out of bed and then be sunbathing and swimming in the sea in no time.

But there are still many hotels based further in-land, in the towns scattered around the island – the pull factor with these places will often be the proximity to nightlife venues, so bear this in mind if you’d rather escape the often loud, late night disco scene. On the north coast there are hotels tucked away inside the mountains so head for these if scenic beauty and hiking in the mountains is your thing, rather than sand and sea.

Palma is the busiest part of the island, and here there are hundreds of hotels, all of which book up very quickly in the season so it is imperative that you book well in advance if you want to stay here. And, for real luxury with no hotels below four stars, head for the nearby Illietas.

Alcudia is also popular, again it is worth booking in advance if you want to stay in the many hotels in this resort town which line the beach. Hotels here also play host to most of Alcudia’s evening entertainment.

But most hotels on the island will have entertainment facilities such as restaurants and bars, should you not want to venture into town. You can also expect swimming pools to come as standard, and possibly a fitness centre, tennis courts and other sports facilities at any of Majorca / Mallorca’s many top-end hotels.

Also, many hotels will provide a pick-up service from the airport, so it’s worth checking before you leave for your holiday so that you can take advantage of this useful service.
