Apartments in Mallorca/Majorca are very popular, especially in the busier resorts of Magaluf, Palma Nova and Alcudia, and they appeal to both families and individuals. Apartments usually come with self-catering facilities, are generally cheaper than hotels and often have enough room for whole families and groups to share.

Apartments in Mallorca/Majorca are second only to hotels in their numbers and therefore there is plenty of availability in great locations in many of the popular resorts. Magaluf, Palma Nova, Cala Millor, Puerto Pollenca, Alcudia and Arenal are all popular choices with good availability. However, if you intend travelling to Majorca between June and September, you should book well in advance as accommodation on the island fills up quickly during this period.

Rates vary along with the season and apartments in Mallorca/Majorca are generally cheaper in the shoulder seasons (May, June, September and October) and in winter. Apartments in Majorca rate from two star, room-only aparthotels to five star, luxury establishments with the capacity to sleep the whole family.

Apartments in Mallorca/Majorca can usually be booked by the week and sometimes for a set number of days although during the high season many apartments only take bookings for one or two weeks at a time. It is worth checking if there is a stipulation on the day that you must arrive as some establishments start the week from a Saturday, meaning midweek arrivals will lose days.

Also worth checking is whether the agency or apartment you book with are charging the €1 eco tax per day, per person that all tourists to the Balearics must pay.

Apartments in Majorca’s top resorts

Magaluf: has the highest number of apartments in Majorca and they are very competitively priced. Apartment rating is from three star and upwards with self-catering facilities, although some establishments have a half-board option.

Alcudia: has most of its apartments near the port area (Puerto Alcudia) only minutes from the beach. Alcudia is a family destination and most respectable apartment buildings have a child pool and air-conditioning as standard.

Cala Millor: also has many apartments from two star rating and upwards, while Palma is more hotel-orientated.
