Majorca Menorca Ibiza Formentera

Ibiza

One of the most well known islands in the world, Ibiza attracts thousands of holidaymakers each year with its beautiful beaches and azure blue waters, stunning scenery, legendary nightclubs, and lively atmosphere.

Despite its reputation as being a mecca for those looking for non-stop hedonism, Ibiza does in fact have a variety of destinations suitable for all types of travellers. From quiet secluded beaches to the hustle and bustle of San Antonio’s thriving party scene, Ibiza, known by the locals as ‘Eivissa’, is a Mediterranean jewel with a history dating back to the Carthaginians.

Much of your holiday experience on the island will depend on where you stay, what season you choose to visit in, and of course, what you are looking for out of your holiday experience.

With hundreds of miles of unspoilt coastline and nearly 80 beaches to choose from, all within an hour’s drive, most visitors come to Ibiza primarily for the beaches in the day and the nightlife at night. The thousands of coves and headlands provide a great range of beaches, from the more populated resort-style stretches -- great for people watching -- to secluded sandy coves perfect for getting a tan in private.

For the younger generation, Ibiza is somewhere to escape the dreary reality of working life back home and experience an atmosphere of Balearic Beats that is hard to find elsewhere. Host to some of the most impressive club nights in the world, when high season arrives the island is swarming with thousands seeking, not only a perfect tan, but the holiday experience of a lifetime.

If clubs aren’t your thing, their existence will unlikely infringe on your holiday, as not only are many of the bigger clubs dotted outside the main towns, but you will most likely be tucked up in bed before they even get going! Although Ibiza obviously caters for those seeking good tunes and a week of excess, the island is full of quieter locations ideal for a more laid-back experience, with excellent snorkelling, windsurfing, scuba diving, and sailing, as well as great walks, shopping, and fine dining all on offer.
