There is an excellent choice of hotels in Ibiza and a range of resorts to chose from. The island is well developed and some resorts are lined with high-rise hotels along the beachfront. Quieter, less popular areas of the island have managed to retain their traditional atmosphere better than others, with the likes of San Antonio being fairly devoid of traditional flavour.

Because of the island’s popularity with European tourists, particularly clubbers, the summer season tends to get very busy, especially during July and August. Ibiza Town, as well as the main resorts of San Antonio, Playa den Bossa, Es Canar, Talamanca, and Cala Llonga are all popular places to stay. These resorts not only have an abundance of hotels, but they also offer various forms of alternative accommodation such as apartments, hostels, guest houses and studios.

A large percentage of visitors to the island are package holiday tourists; therefore, many of the big resort-style hotels on the beaches book out months in advance. Many hotels can be booked over the Internet, a convenient way to ensure you get the room of your choice. Others can be booked directly by telephone or in person upon arrival on the island.
