Party Ibiza
Ibiza, known worldwide for its Balearic Beats and super-clubs, is well established as one of the world’s party capitals along with the likes of Ayia Napa and Goa. Year after year, thousands of holidaymakers descend upon its shores for a week of non-stop partying.
When people say the word ‘party’ in Ibiza, it’s sometimes difficult to know what they mean. In Ibiza, party is the term used to describe the club ‘parties’, or club nights that are held on the island. However, clubs aren’t the only place you can party in Ibiza; there are a whole range of bars and beach parties that swing out late into the night.
If you haven’t been partying in Ibiza, you’ll likely want to know what all the fuss is about. With the fast development of the island, totally free parties are a bit harder to find these days and the first thing you will notice when you arrive is that the entry fee to the clubs and prices of drinks might leave you penniless before the week is out.
The primary resorts for partying on the island are Ibiza Town and San Antonio. Both these well-developed resorts provide an excellent selection of bars, discos, and nightclubs that will keep you entertained right through into the next day (should you still be standing).
Details of what nights different parties are held on can be found in club listings magazines, or on flyers or billboards dotted around the centres of the resorts.
Most of the legendary mega-clubs are just outside San Antonio. These clubs range from €30 to €50 for an entry ticket and drinks don’t come cheap either. The most worthy of a mention are: Privilege, a club the size of an aircraft hanger; Amnesia, in the heart of San An; El Divino, which has the option of arriving by boat; Space, which hosts all day parties, so you can go clubbing from the minute you wake up; Eden, which boasts the likes of Judge Jules every Sunday night and Esparadis, famous for its water parties.
Just remember, it isn’t compulsory to go out partying every night of the week, even if your friends insist it is; the partying is there if you want it – if you don’t, take a night off and rest.
