There is an abundance of leisure activities on offer in Ibiza, the most popular of which are water-related. Visitors are attracted to the island by its miles of coastline and azure blue waters that act as a playground for watersport lovers throughout the year.
During the high season training and equipment rental for watersports is big business and kiosks offering a range of watersports opportunities, such as waterskiing, jet skiing, parasailing and windsurfing are set up along the beaches of the bigger resorts. Pedalos rentals and banana boats are also popular, particularly among the younger crowd.
Boasting two nautical clubs, five leisure marinas and a host of sailing schools, the island is a great place to take lessons in a range of sports, windsurfing and diving being among the most popular.
There are 14 diving schools on the island that all offer instruction from experienced English speaking staff. There is a choice of courses ranging from beginners to advanced level and a good variety of dive sites off the island’s coast. In the waters that surround Ibiza, divers can experience an explosion of different fish, coral and flora, as well as underwater geographical features such as cliffs, arches and caves.
Spas are another popular way for visitors to spend their leisure time and there is a selection of exclusive establishments on the island where guests can receive a range of treatments and pampering, while also enjoying excellent facilities such as saunas, private whirlpool baths and swimming pools.
