Diving in Ibiza

Ibiza has beautiful clear waters, making diving in Ibiza a popular activity. The abundance of marine life and warm waters allow visitors to experience a magical underwater paradise. Whether you are an experienced diver or you would like to try it for the first time, Ibiza offers a good variety of courses and dive trips to suit you all year-round.

Dotted around the island there is an abundance of dive schools dotted around the island with experienced and qualified English-speaking staff that can guide you through dives and courses, ranging from beginners to advanced. Most schools offer dives in small groups of between five and ten people.

The island offers some wonderful places to explore, including caves and ship wrecks. There are reefs, 70-metre deep drop-offs, canyons, arches, and caves all waiting to be explored. Underwater you will see an array of flora, coral, gorgonians, sponges and anemones. Sea life here includes barracudas, wrasses, huge groupers, morays, congers, octopuses, sepias, lobsters, scorpion fish, snails, turtles, sunfish and dolphins.

Prices vary from school to school, but expect to pay around €70 for a basic course in scuba diving that will give you the skills to continue and go on other dives. A complete PADI course with five modules and four open water dives will cost you around €350. For those who are already qualified divers, one dive, including guide, tank, weights and transport will cost you around €30.
